Project Overview
ArchQuest is an online community-driven platform for global exploration, generation, and sharing of fresh questions for the ARE exams. Our system leverages Next.js, Clerk for authentication, and Supabase for a robust database.
The Challenge
Preparing for the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) is a challenging process for many architecture students and professionals. Traditional study materials often become outdated, and the limited variety of practice questions can lead to predictable exam experiences. Moreover, the lack of a collaborative, global platform for sharing and discussing exam-related content hinders the collective learning process. There's a need for fresh, relevant, and diverse exam questions that reflect the evolving nature of architectural practice and exam formats.
The Solution
ArchQuest addresses these challenges through an innovative, community-driven approach: 1. Global Collaboration: Creates a platform where architecture professionals worldwide can contribute and share exam questions. 2. AI-Assisted Question Generation: Utilizes AI to help generate new, relevant questions based on current architectural trends and exam patterns. 3. User Authentication: Implements Clerk for secure and streamlined user authentication, ensuring the integrity of contributions. 4. Robust Database: Leverages Supabase to efficiently store and manage a growing database of questions and user interactions. 5. Dynamic Content: Regularly updates question pool based on community contributions and feedback. 6. Peer Review System: Allows community members to review and validate questions for accuracy and relevance. 7. Personalized Learning Paths: Tracks user progress and suggests questions based on individual strengths and weaknesses. 8. Discussion Forums: Facilitates discussions around challenging concepts and questions, promoting collaborative learning. 9. Mobile-Responsive Design: Built with Next.js to ensure a seamless experience across various devices. 10. Gamification Elements: Incorporates badges and leaderboards to encourage active participation and contribution.
Results
ArchQuest has shown promising early results in enhancing ARE exam preparation. The platform has attracted a growing user base and has facilitated the creation of a diverse pool of practice questions. Users report increased engagement in their study process, appreciating the community-driven approach and the fresh content. While comprehensive data is still being collected, initial feedback suggests that users find value in the platform's collaborative nature and its ability to provide varied practice materials. The project team continues to gather user feedback and make iterative improvements to the platform.
